Tour Overview
This exclusive 3-day journey takes you from bustling Hanoi to the untouched natural beauty of northern Vietnam. You’ll visit Ba Be National Park, Ban Gioc Waterfall, and local ethnic villages along the way. Travel through mountains, river valleys, terraced rice fields, and caves while experiencing rich cultural interactions with Tay and Nung communities.
ITINERARY
Day 1: Hanoi - Lang Son - Cao Bang
Meals: Lunch, Dinner
07:30 - 08:00 | Pickup from your hotel in Hanoi. Drive towards Thai Nguyen to visit the Museum of the Cultures of Vietnam’s Ethnic Groups, where you’ll learn about traditional tools, clothing, and customs of the country’s diverse minorities.
After lunch, continue through rural landscapes toward Cao Bang, stopping at a tobacco-producing village (seasonal). Enjoy peaceful scenery on less-traveled roads.
In the evening, have dinner and stay at a traditional Nung ethnic homestay in Quang Uyen.

Day 2: Quang Uyen - Ban Gioc Waterfall - Ba Be Lake
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
After breakfast, drive toward Trung Khanh District near the Vietnam-China border. Visit a local Nung village known for crafting agricultural tools and admire the terraced rice fields en route.
Continue to the majestic Ban Gioc Waterfall, which spans the border of Vietnam and China. Take in the spectacular views and serene landscape before moving on to explore the Tiger Cave, famous for its striking limestone formations.
After visiting Cao Bang town, descend the scenic “Snake Pass” to reach Ba Be Lake. Dinner and homestay with a Tay ethnic family.

Day 3: Ba Be Lake - Hanoi
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch
Start your day with a boat trip on Ba Be Lake and cruise along the Nang River. Enjoy wildlife spotting and, if you wish, take a refreshing swim in the lake’s clear waters.
Continue to the Phuong Grotto (Puong Cave) to explore impressive stalactites, stalagmites, and a resident bat colony numbering over a thousand.
After lunch, drive approximately 230 km back to Hanoi, stopping at a tea plantation before being dropped off at your hotel.
