Itinerary Overview

Night 1: Hanoi - Lao Cai (Train or Sleeper Bus)

  • Train option: Pick-up from your hotel in Hanoi around 20:00, transfer to Hanoi Railway Station for overnight train to Lao Cai (shared 4-berth cabin).
  • Bus option: Pick-up at 21:00 for direct sleeper bus to Sapa.

Day 1: Lao Cai - Sapa (1600m) - Tram Ton - Camp 1 (2200m)

05:00 -  Arrive at Lao Cai. Meet your guide and transfer to Sapa by bus.

  • Breakfast at a hotel in Sapa.

09:30 - Start your journey to Tram Ton Pass (2100m) - the highest mountain pass in Vietnam.

  • Short stop at Silver Waterfall before starting the 6-hour trek through jungle, streams, and bamboo forests.
  • Reach Camp 1 (2200m) in the late afternoon. Set up camp, enjoy a warm mountain dinner and overnight in tents.

Day 2: Camp 1 - Fansipan Summit (3143m) - Camp 1

  • After breakfast, begin the challenging climb through pine forests and bamboo paths to the Fansipan Summit - the Roof of Indochina.
  • Spend time soaking in the 360° views:
  • See Sapa town below, and vast mountain ranges stretching across Lai Chau province.
  • After lunch at the summit, return to Camp 1.
  • Dinner and second overnight stay in the mountains.

Day 3: Camp 1 - Sin Chai Village - Sapa - Hanoi

  • Enjoy your final breakfast in the mountains.
  • Begin descent via a different route, ending at Sin Chai Village, home to the Black H’mong people.
  • Learn about local culture before being picked up by bus to return to Sapa town.
  • Free time in Sapa for a shower and light rest.
  • Afternoon: Transfer to Lao Cai Station or Sleeper Bus for the return journey to Hanoi.
  • Overnight on the train or bus.

Day 4: Arrival in Hanoi

  • Arrive at Hanoi Railway Station (Tran Quy Cap) or Hanoi Bus Station around 05:00 AM.
  • Tour ends. Take a taxi to your hotel on your own.
